2 MADRAS Battalion Commemorates 250th Raising Day with Ceremonial Events at Pangode

The 2 MADRAS battalion, also known as the Goondas, marked its 250th Raising Day with ceremonial events at the Pangode Military Station, celebrating a noteworthy legacy in service to the nation.

In honor of this significant occasion, a traditional Badakhana was held on December 12, followed by a Wreath Laying Ceremony on December 13. These events were designed to commemorate the battalion's fallen soldiers and acknowledge the enduring strength and sacrifices of the Veer Naris, who continue to inspire the ranks with their resilience.

During the celebrations, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Northern Command and a former commanding officer of the battalion, addressed the soldiers at a Special Sainik Sammelan. He encouraged all ranks to maintain the prestigious traditions of the Indian Army and the Madras Regiment, highlighting the importance of courage, discipline, and selfless service.

The 250th Raising Day festivities underscored the proud heritage, steadfast spirit, and combat prowess of the 2 MADRAS (Goondas), reiterating their dedication to serving the nation with honor and distinction.
