Young Officers from 1 EME Centre Engage with Advanced Technologies at MCEME During Professional Visit

A group of 24 Young Officers (YOs) undergoing Regimental Orientation Training at 1 EME Centre visited the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad on May 18 and 19, 2026. This visit was part of their programme designed to enhance professional military and technical knowledge.

During their visit, the officers explored various faculties within MCEME. They received briefings on advanced training methodologies, key indigenisation efforts, and the latest technological advancements being integrated into military training and operational support systems.

The officers were introduced to cutting-edge training laboratories that focus on drones, robotics, artificial intelligence, and additive manufacturing. They also learned about modern infrastructure that supports the innovation and maintenance of weapon systems, aviation assets, electronic warfare equipment, and communication technologies.

Additionally, the officers visited the EME Archives and Museum. Here, they gained insights into the rich heritage, operational legacy, and evolution of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers.

The visit underscored the Indian Army's ongoing focus on technology-driven transformation and indigenous capability development. It emphasized preparing future leaders for modern, network-centric warfare environments.

As these officers prepare to take on leadership roles in the field, the orientation programme aimed to deepen their understanding of innovation, precision engineering, and the operational support capabilities central to the Corps of EME.
