VCOAS Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh Reviews Defence Innovations at L&T and Bharat Forge in Pune

Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, serving as Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS), recently toured the defence manufacturing sites of Larsen & Toubro Ltd and Bharat Forge Ltd located in Pune. During his visit, he received detailed briefings on the latest defence technologies that these companies are developing in support of the national initiative, Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

While at these facilities, Lt Gen Singh examined an array of indigenous projects currently underway, including advancements in robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and modern artillery systems. These developments highlight the increasing capability and expertise within India's private defence sector. Executives from both companies provided updates on significant programs and showcased innovations designed to improve operational effectiveness and battlefield survivability.

The Vice Chief of the Army Staff praised the dedication of India's defence industry in delivering state-of-the-art, domestically developed capabilities to the nation's armed forces. He emphasized the importance of indigenous solutions for adapting to a changing security landscape, reducing reliance on imports, and bolstering national defence readiness.

This visit reinforced the Indian Army's commitment to closely work with national industry partners as part of a broader strategy to enhance self-sufficiency in defence production and technology development.
