Valedictory Function Marks Conclusion of No. 46 Ground Instructors’ Training Course at Air Force Station Tambaram
A valedictory ceremony was held on May 16, 2026, at the Ground Instructors’ School located at Air Force Station Tambaram, marking the graduation of eight officers from the No. 46 Ground Instructors’ Training Course (Officers).
This specialized course aimed to develop the skills of officers from different branches of the Indian Air Force, transforming them into Qualified Ground Instructors (QGIs). The training provided them with advanced instructional capabilities, techniques for curriculum development, effective training administration, and contemporary teaching methods.

These newly trained instructors are expected to significantly enhance the delivery of Professional Military Education to air warriors, thereby playing a crucial role in strengthening the operational readiness and capability development of the IAF.
The event was attended by Air Commodore Tapan Sharma, the Air Officer Commanding at Air Force Station Tambaram, who served as the Reviewing Officer. He awarded certificates to the graduating officers.

During the ceremony, trophies were also presented to outstanding course participants for their achievements in academics, instructional skills, outdoor training, and overall performance. Additionally, a trainee officer from a friendly foreign nation received a souvenir from the Indian Air Force.
In his address, Air Commodore Sharma commended the Ground Instructors’ School team, led by Group Captain Mukesh Kumar Chauhan, for their dedication to maintaining high standards of instructional training. He emphasized the importance of quality military education in bolstering the operational capabilities of the Indian Air Force.
