Two Women Officers from the Indian Navy and MNS Die in Road Accident

In a heartbreaking incident on Saturday evening, two young doctors serving in the Indian Navy and the Military Nursing Service (MNS) lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Visakhapatnam. The mishap occurred around 4:30 PM on the flyover near Essar Junction, en route to Convent Junction, under the jurisdiction of Harbour Police Station.
The deceased have been identified as Surg. Lt. Soumya Satish Asati, a Primary Medical Officer (PMO) of INS Delhi hailing from Maharashtra, and Lt. Megha Rawat, a Military Nursing Service officer posted at Indian Naval Hospital Ship (INHS) Kalyani, originally from Delhi.
According to police reports, the two officers were traveling from Sheela Nagar towards Convent Junction on a motorcycle when Surg. Lt. Soumya, who was riding, lost control of the vehicle while attempting to overtake a lorry and a car. Both officers fell onto the road and were tragically run over by a truck following behind, resulting in their instant deaths.
Police have termed the incident a case of negligence, citing an unsafe overtaking maneuver as a contributing factor. A case has been registered, and the bodies have been sent for postmortem examination.
The untimely deaths of these two dedicated officers have cast a pall of gloom over the naval and medical communities in Vizag, where both were known for their professionalism, dedication, and service to the nation.

I would request you guys to spend 2 seconds doing research before you publish garbage. To anyone reading, this article is factually incorrect at multiple places. They slipped, and the truck ran over them. You’d know if you did any actual journalist work and not simply ape everything published on TOI. I will not let you ruin their memory, and tarnish their names like this.
