RIMC Cadets Clinch 13 Medals at 61st All India IPSC Athletics Meet in Nabha
Cadets from the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) turned in a strong showing at the 61st All India IPSC Athletics Meet (Boys), returning with 13 medals after four days of competition at The Punjab Public School, Nabha, from October 7 to 10, 2026.
The 17-member RIMC contingent won four gold, five silver and four bronze medals, competing against athletes from other institutions in an event that brought together some of the country’s school-level sporting talent. The result gave RIMC one of its best medal hauls at the meet and highlighted the college’s focus on athletics alongside academics and military-style training.

The performance is being seen as another reflection of RIMC’s emphasis on holistic development, where sport is treated as an integral part of cadet life rather than a separate activity. Competitive athletics, the college’s approach suggests, is used to build physical fitness, perseverance, teamwork and the ability to handle pressure in a structured environment.
Beyond the numbers, the medal tally also points to the kind of qualities RIMC aims to nurture in its cadets. Success on the track and field, by this measure, contributes to confidence, character-building and leadership development, all of which are central to the institution’s broader training framework.

For the institution, the result adds to a record of sporting participation that supports its wider mission of preparing young cadets for future responsibility. The college’s showing at Nabha offered a clear indication that its training philosophy continues to produce cadets capable of competing successfully beyond the classroom and parade ground.
