Preity Zinta Donates ₹1.10 Crore to Army Widows and Children After Operation Sindoor

In a powerful gesture of patriotism and gratitude, Bollywood actress and Punjab Kings IPL team co-owner Preity Zinta has donated ₹1.10 crore to the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) to support the widows and children of Indian Army personnel martyred in service. The contribution comes in the wake of Operation Sindoor, a swift military response following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.

The donation was made under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Punjab Kings and was handed over to AWWA South Western Command. The emotional ceremony, held in Jaipur on Saturday, was attended by the Army Commander of South Western Command, the Regional President of Shapta Shakti AWWA, and several Army families.

Addressing the gathering, Preity Zinta said, “It is both an honour and a responsibility to provide assistance to the brave families of our Armed Forces. The sacrifices made by our soldiers can never truly be repaid. However, we can stand by their families and support them in moving forward.”

Zinta, who hails from a military background herself, has long championed the cause of soldiers and their families. Speaking to her fans on social media, she reflected on the deep emotional toll borne by fauji households, stating, “I have seen the grit, the sweat, the blood, the tears up close. Sometimes I feel fauji families are a little stronger than the faujis themselves… this is their reality.”

Her heartfelt remarks resonated with many, especially at a time when national sentiment runs high following India’s decisive military actions in Operation Sindoor.

On the professional front, Preity is preparing for a highly anticipated comeback in the film Lahore 1947, opposite Sunny Deol and produced by Aamir Khan. The period drama set against the backdrop of Partition will mark her return to the silver screen after a prolonged hiatus.
