PM Modi Commemorates Armed Forces Flag Day, Calls for Public Contributions to Support Military Families

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt greetings to the personnel of the Armed Forces on Sunday in observance of Armed Forces Flag Day. Celebrated annually on December 7 since 1949, the day is dedicated to honoring India's soldiers who have bravely fought and continue to vigilantly guard the country's borders.

In a message shared on X, PM Modi expressed profound gratitude to the courageous men and women who defend the nation with steadfast determination. He acknowledged their discipline and resolve, noting how these attributes serve to protect the populace and fortify the nation. He also emphasized their commitment as a shining example of duty, discipline, and devotion and encouraged contributions to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.

The Prime Minister called upon citizens to donate generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF), a fund set up to support war-disabled soldiers, Veer Naris, and the families of martyrs who have given their lives in service to the nation.

The Ministry of Defence highlighted the importance of the day by stating that soldiers are among the greatest assets of any country. They are the nation's guardians, protecting its citizens at all costs and making significant sacrifices to fulfill their duties.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to the armed forces, praising their valour in a message on X. He saluted their courage which safeguards the nation and acknowledged their selfless service as a debt that can never truly be repaid. He too urged everyone to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, emphasizing that such support honors their dedication and strengthens those who protect the nation.

Armed Forces Flag Day serves as a reminder of India's commitment to its defence personnel and their families, ensuring the sacrifices made in the nation's service are never forgotten.
