Platoon Commanders Course Concludes at JL Wing, Belagavi; Havildar Muhammad Salmaan Meer Awarded Best Student
The Indian Army's Platoon Commanders Course, held at the Junior Leaders Wing (JL Wing) in Belagavi, concluded successfully on January 13, 2026. This marked a significant milestone in leadership training for young officers and junior leaders.
In his closing address, Major General Rakesh Manocha, Commander of the JL Wing, presented awards to outstanding performers. He encouraged the participants to apply the professional knowledge, tactical insight, and leadership abilities acquired during the course in diverse operational settings.

The course also highlighted India's expanding defense cooperation by including 13 participants from friendly foreign nations such as Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Bhutan. Their participation reinforced military-to-military connections and interoperability between the countries.
Havildar Muhammad Salmaan Meer from the Special Forces received the Best Student award for his exceptional performance and overall excellence. The Best Foreign Student accolade was awarded to Staff Sergeant Fathuhulla Mohamed of the Maldives Army.
The completion of this course underscored the Junior Leaders Wing's essential role in developing competent platoon commanders and promoting leadership, professionalism, and collaborative understanding among military personnel from India and abroad.
