Paras Defence Awarded ₹35.68 Crore MoD Contracts for Indigenous Anti-Drone Systems
Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd has secured two contracts from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) valued at ₹35.68 crore. These contracts are aimed at supplying Portable Counter-Drone Systems, which are designed to detect, identify, and neutralize hostile unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), marking a notable enhancement in India's domestic defense capabilities.
The completion of both contracts is scheduled for May 2026, underscoring the company's increasing involvement in India's efforts to strengthen its counter-drone infrastructure.
Strengthening India’s Counter-Drone Shield
The introduction of these systems will bolster India's capacity to counter the growing menace of rogue drones that pose threats through surveillance, smuggling, and cross-border incidents. With a modular design approach, the systems incorporate advanced technologies for detecting, tracking, classifying, and neutralizing UAVs, safeguarding both military and civilian airspace.
Additional MoD Order for RF Jammers
Additionally, Paras Defence’s subsidiary, Paras Anti-Drone Technologies Pvt. Ltd., has been awarded a separate contract worth ₹3.95 crore from the MoD for the provision of Radio Frequency (RF) jammers. These jammers possess the capability to both detect and disrupt drones, with project completion also expected by May 2026.
Trusted Partner in Defence Innovation
Ashutosh Baheti, CEO of Paras Anti-Drone Technologies, noted that these repeat orders within a short span of two months signify the government's ongoing confidence in the company's technological prowess.
“These projects highlight our commitment to advancing India’s counter-drone preparedness and ensuring technological self-reliance in the defence sector,” Baheti said.
Supporting ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ Vision
These contracts coincide with India’s expanding efforts to establish a robust anti-drone framework under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. The MoD's engagement with domestic firms like Paras Defence indicates a significant shift towards supporting indigenous innovation and reducing reliance on foreign technologies.
As the global risks associated with UAVs continue to rise, Paras Defence's growing capabilities position the company as a pivotal player in enhancing India’s national security and advancing the nation’s capabilities in emerging aerial combat technologies.
