Paras Anti Drone Technologies Secures Rs 22 Crore Export Deal with French Firm CERBAIR for Counter-UAV Systems

Paras Anti Drone Technologies, a division of Paras Defence and Space Technologies, has secured a significant export contract with French company CERBAIR. Announced on Tuesday, the deal is valued at Rs 22 crore and entails the provision of up to 30 CHIMERA 200 systems. These systems are man-portable devices designed for radio frequency detection and neutralisation to counteract unauthorized drones and drone swarms.

The CHIMERA 200 is a proven counter-UAS system known for its wideband detection and neutralisation capabilities. It is engineered for both omnidirectional and directional operations within the 400 MHz to 6 GHz frequency range, accommodating up to five simultaneous bands. This system is adept at swiftly identifying threats, including drones, remote controls, and launch sites, making it highly suitable for contemporary UAV challenges.

This agreement enhances India's status as an emerging global exporter of sophisticated defense technologies. Paras Anti Drone Technologies remarked that the deal aligns with the Make-in-India initiative and aims to contribute towards India's target of achieving USD 5 billion in annual defense exports by 2025.

Ashutosh Baheti, CEO of Paras Anti Drone Technologies, described the collaboration as evidence of India's growing reputation as a reliable source of advanced anti-drone solutions. He reiterated the company's dedication to delivering systems that meet international standards and can be scaled as needed.

In a letter of intent, CERBAIR President Lucas Le Bell addressed the rising demand for such systems in Europe, citing increasing drone threats and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. He emphasized the need for enhanced neutralisation power and adaptability to effectively combat advanced drone technologies in real-time situations.

Currently operational across critical infrastructure sites in India, the CHIMERA 200 is anticipated to play a significant role in shaping Europe's security framework. The partnership is expected to open additional export avenues and enhance collaboration through 2026 and beyond.

Amit Mahajan, Director at Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd, noted that India has transitioned from merely licensed manufacturing to becoming a global center for the design and export of reliable, cost-efficient defense technologies.
