Operational Readiness Enhanced by Indian Army in Krishna Ghati Sector
In a decisive effort to bolster security along the Line of Control (LoC), Lieutenant General Prasanna Kishore Mishra, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, conducted an inspection of the Krishna Ghati sector on Thursday. Accompanying him was the GOC of the Ace of Spades Division, highlighting the visit's strategic importance.
The primary aim of the visit was to evaluate the current security situation and measure the operational readiness of the troops stationed in this crucial area, known for frequent ceasefire violations in recent years. Military officials reported that the GOC emphasized the necessity of increased surveillance and strengthened defenses to effectively address infiltration threats and ensure territorial sovereignty.
This initiative is in response to previous incidents, prompting the Army to incorporate advanced technologies along the LoC. Recently, a sophisticated three-tiered robotic counter-infiltration system was launched in the Kupwara district. This setup, featuring radars, UAVs, thermal imaging, and mine-based obstacles, aims to detect and prevent infiltration attempts, especially during high-profile national events.
The White Knight Corps, established in 1972, continues to draw strength from the Ace of Spades Division, a unit with a distinguished history that includes participation in World War II's Arakan campaign. The enduring legacy of resilience and combat prowess was evident in the high morale and preparedness of the troops during the GOC’s review.
Military officials reiterated that continuous patrols, ambush strategies, and surveillance are crucial to maintaining control over the volatile border region. Through this visit, the Indian Army reinforced its dedication to sustaining peace and stability along the LoC.
