Meet Shriti Daksh – Topping BA in NDA Course, Breaking Barriers with Brilliance

In a landmark convocation ceremony held on 29th May 2025 at the National Defence Academy (NDA), the air was charged with pride and celebration. Among the shining stars of the 148th NDA course, Cadet Shriti Daksh emerged as a symbol of determination and academic excellence by securing the first position in the Bachelor of Arts (BA) stream.
Presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Tandon, Vice Chancellor of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, the convocation was a proud moment for the graduating cadets and their families. As parents beamed with joy and pride, the academy honored those who had excelled in their respective streams. Amidst a cohort of over 300 cadets, Shriti’s name stood out—not just for her academic brilliance, but for the quiet strength and focus she carried through the three years of intense military and academic training.
A Trailblazer in the Making
Cadet Shriti Daksh’s achievement holds special significance as the NDA's first batch of women cadets prepares to pass out. In a historically male-dominated institution, Shriti’s top rank in the BA stream is a proud marker of the transformative change the NDA is embracing. Her journey is one of resilience, commitment, and breaking stereotypes, showing that excellence knows no gender.
Celebrating Excellence
Other meritorious cadets from the batch include:
- ACC Udayveer Singh Negi – First in B.Tech
- BCC Prince Kumar Singh Kushwah – First in B.Sc (Computer Science)
- Cdt Lucky Kumar – First in B.Sc
- DCC Shriti Daksh – First in B.A
While each cadet represents the best of discipline and dedication, Shriti’s name marks a historic stride for women in the armed forces—setting a precedent for future aspirants.
A Message of Inspiration
Shriti’s achievement is not just a personal milestone—it’s an inspiration for thousands of young women who dream of wearing the uniform. Her success story reiterates that with hard work, courage, and self-belief, no summit is unreachable.
As she steps into her next phase—joining the Indian Armed Forces—Shriti carries with her not just medals and certificates, but the hopes of a new generation of women determined to serve the nation shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts.
