Major Rishi Tripathi Achieves Top Honors in Long Gunnery Staff Course at Devlali's School of Artillery

The Convocation Ceremony for the Long Gunnery Staff Course took place at the School of Artillery in Devlali on May 11, 2026. The event marked the conclusion of the esteemed 48-week training program.

Officers from the Indian Army, along with participants from several allied foreign nations including Sri Lanka, Nepal, Armenia, Uganda, Myanmar, and Vietnam, attended the course.

This advanced training program focuses on delivering extensive instruction in the technical and tactical facets of gunnery. It prepares officers to assume roles as gunnery instructors and Grade 1 staff officers within artillery units.

During the ceremony, Lieutenant General N S Sarna, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, who serves as the Commandant of the School of Artillery, honored the award recipients.

Major Rishi Tripathi was recognized as First in Order of Merit for his exceptional performance throughout the course. Meanwhile, Major Rabindra Singh of the Nepal Army was awarded the Best Foreign Student accolade, acknowledging his excellence among international attendees.

The course underscored the Indian Army's commitment to professional military education, advanced training in artillery, and fostering defense cooperation with allied foreign nations through collaborative learning and expertise exchange.
