Major General Varun Malhotra Takes Command of Uttar Maharashtra & Gujarat Sub Area

On July 10, 2026, Major General Varun Malhotra took over as the leader of the Headquarters Uttar Maharashtra & Gujarat Sub Area, signifying an important leadership change within the Indian Army.

Having been commissioned into the Corps of Engineers with The Bombay Sappers, Major General Malhotra brings over thirty years of notable military experience in various command, instructional, and staff roles.

Upon taking command, Major General Malhotra engaged with officers and personnel from the Sub Area. He praised the entire team for their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to their duties.
