Major General Maneesh Kukrety Leads ECHS Hospital Conclave 2026 in Lucknow for Veterans’ Healthcare

Lucknow, November 6, 2026: Headquarters Madhya UP Sub Area on November 6 organised the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Annual Hospital Conclave 2026 in Lucknow, bringing together nearly 300 delegates from empanelled hospitals and the veteran community to discuss healthcare support for ex-servicemen and their dependents.

The conclave was chaired by Major General Maneesh Kukrety, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Madhya UP Sub Area. The meeting focused on improving coordination between ECHS authorities and healthcare providers, with the aim of making medical services more accessible, timely and effective for veterans and their families.

According to the information shared about the event, the conclave served as a forum to address coordination challenges in the healthcare delivery system and to explore ways of improving service quality for former military personnel who rely on the ECHS network. A key emphasis of the discussions was on enabling smoother access to medical facilities through better cooperation between the scheme’s administrators and the hospitals enrolled under it.

The participation of nearly 300 delegates reflected the scale of the effort required to support veterans’ healthcare needs. The gathering brought together representatives from empanelled hospitals, military healthcare administrators and members of the veteran community, highlighting the dependence of the ECHS framework on sustained collaboration across these groups.

The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme is a healthcare initiative of the Ministry of Defence that provides medical services to eligible retired Armed Forces personnel and their dependents. Its delivery mechanism operates through ECHS polyclinics, service medical facilities and empanelled hospitals across India.

The conclave also underlined the Indian Army’s continuing focus on veteran welfare and the importance placed on reliable post-retirement healthcare for those who have served in the Armed Forces. By bringing together stakeholders from across the ECHS ecosystem, the event sought to strengthen the overall support structure available to ex-servicemen and their dependents.

Officials and participants used the platform to reinforce the need for closer coordination between hospitals and ECHS authorities so that beneficiaries can access medical care with fewer delays and better administrative support. The broader objective, as reflected in the conclave, was to improve the functioning of the healthcare network that serves India’s veteran community.
