Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni Inspects EME School Vadodara, Highlights Technological Advancements and Training Initiatives
Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni, AVSM, VSM, PhD, who serves as the Director General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DGEME) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME, recently toured the EME School in Vadodara from January 19 to 21, 2026.
During his time at the institution, Lt Gen Sahni received a detailed briefing on the school's extensive training program, which is crafted to produce technically proficient warriors ready for combat within the Indian Army. The presentation emphasized the school's ongoing efforts in fostering innovation, advancing indigenisation in specialized technologies, and the increasing incorporation of Artificial Intelligence into their technical training initiatives.

Lt Gen Sahni also evaluated the modern training facilities that support advanced weapon systems, vehicle platforms, and cutting-edge optronics, which are all designed to bolster the Army's operational capabilities in alignment with the national objective of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Expressing his appreciation for the faculty and trainees, Lt Gen Sahni lauded the EME School for its persistent role in enhancing the Army’s technical capabilities. During the visit, he also presented Excellence Awards to soldiers and Civil Defence personnel, acknowledging their commitment, professionalism, and outstanding service.

The visit underscored the essential function of EME School in maintaining the technological edge of the Indian Army through its focus on training, innovation, and indigenisation.
