Lt Gen Rajiv K Sahni Conducts Comprehensive Review of Production Activities at Southern Command's Army Base Workshop in Pune
Lt Gen Rajiv K Sahni, AVSM, VSM, PhD, who serves as the Director General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DG EME) and Colonel Commandant, conducted a thorough review at the Army Base Workshop under Southern Command in Pune. His evaluation focused on crucial production and overhauling activities, including the refurbishment of Class ‘A’ serials and other vital combat equipment.
During his visit, the DG EME engaged with industry and academic representatives, commending their ongoing collaboration with the Workshop in advancing cutting-edge technologies through the Military Civil Fusion initiative. He praised the joint efforts aimed at harnessing collective expertise to tackle complex technological and operational challenges.
Lt Gen Sahni stressed the strategic importance of these collaborative partnerships, emphasizing their critical role in promoting the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision. He noted that close cooperation among the Army, industry, and academia is imperative for bolstering indigenous defence manufacturing and accelerating the modernization of the Indian Army.
