Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar Reviews Logistics Readiness at CAD Pulgaon, Opens Shooting Range at Chandrapur Sainik School

Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, Army Commander of the Southern Command, visited the Central Ammunition Depot (CAD) in Pulgaon and Sainik School Chandrapur, focusing on two key areas of the Army’s wider responsibilities: operational logistics and the development of future leaders.

At CAD Pulgaon, Lt Gen Pushkar reviewed critical infrastructure and the systems supporting the depot’s operational logistics and mission readiness. He was briefed on how the establishment functions and on the initiatives being pursued to improve logistics efficiency.

The visit offered the Army Commander an opportunity to assess the infrastructure and support mechanisms that enable the depot to carry out its responsibilities. The emphasis on logistics efficiency underlined the importance of effective support systems in maintaining readiness for operational requirements.

He then visited Sainik School Chandrapur, where he inaugurated the Lakshya Indoor Shooting Range. During the visit, he also reviewed the school’s academic and training initiatives, cadet development programmes and modern infrastructure.

The new indoor shooting range adds to the training facilities available to cadets at the school. Lt Gen Pushkar also interacted with the cadets and reviewed the measures being taken for their overall development.

While speaking with the cadets, he encouraged them to pursue excellence through self-discipline, perseverance and critical thinking, framing these qualities as essential for those who will take on leadership responsibilities in the future.

The Southern Command’s engagements at the two establishments brought together the Army’s operational and developmental roles: strengthening logistics capabilities that support mission readiness, and backing institutions that contribute to leadership development and nation-building.

At CAD Pulgaon, the attention remained on critical infrastructure, logistics efficiency and mission readiness. At Sainik School Chandrapur, the focus shifted to academics, training, cadet development and modern infrastructure.

The visit reflected the Southern Command’s continued engagement with both operational logistics establishments and institutions involved in preparing future leaders.
