Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar Reviews Bison Division, TASA Operational Readiness in Secunderabad

Southern Command chief Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, reviewed the operational preparedness and capability development efforts of key Army formations during a visit to Secunderabad Military Station, where he also called for continued adaptation to changing operational demands and greater integration of technology into military operations.

Lt Gen Pushkar, the Army Commander of Southern Command, was briefed on the readiness levels and ongoing initiatives of Bison Division and Telangana & Andhra Sub Area (TASA). The review covered mission preparedness, training measures, amphibious capabilities and steps being taken to incorporate modern technology in support of military effectiveness.

The presentations outlined how the formations are working to maintain a high state of readiness while strengthening their ability to meet emerging operational requirements. During the assessment, the Army Commander examined the formations’ preparedness and stressed that capability development must continue in line with the changing nature of operational challenges.

He commended the personnel for their professionalism, dedication and the standards of performance displayed during the review.

The visit also included the inauguration of an E-Bike Facility at Secunderabad Military Station. The facility has been introduced to support sustainable mobility within the station and to encourage the adoption of smart infrastructure and energy-efficient practices across the military establishment.

The initiative aligns with the Army’s broader emphasis on environmentally responsible practices and sustainable development in military stations. By promoting cleaner and more efficient transport options, the E-Bike Facility is intended to contribute to the development of more modern and resource-conscious military infrastructure.

During the Secunderabad visit, Lt Gen Pushkar also addressed participants of the 50th Higher Air Command Course at the College of Air Warfare, delivering a talk on “Evolution of Land Power: Indian Context”.

In his interaction with the officers, he focused on the increasing importance of jointness and integrated operations among the armed forces, reflecting the growing need for the Army, Navy and Air Force to operate in closer coordination. He also spoke about the changing character of warfare and the need to build capabilities suited to multi-domain operations.

Lt Gen Pushkar further underlined the importance of a Whole of Nation Approach to strengthening India’s defence preparedness. In that context, he highlighted capability transformation and deeper technology integration across the armed forces as essential elements of future readiness.

Overall, the visit served as a review of both immediate operational readiness and longer-term capability-building initiatives underway at Secunderabad Military Station. Before concluding the engagement, the Southern Command chief urged all ranks to maintain the momentum and continue striving for higher standards in operational excellence and capability enhancement.

The programme reflected Southern Command’s current focus on sustaining mission readiness while advancing training, technological integration, joint operations and sustainable infrastructure within the military system.
