Lt Gen Prit Pal Singh Reviews Operational Readiness of Shahbaaz Division at Sagar Military Station

Lieutenant General Prit Pal Singh, who leads the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, conducted a comprehensive assessment of the operational preparedness and combat capabilities of the Shahbaaz Division at Sagar Military Station on Thursday. This visit is part of a larger evaluation under the Indian Army's "Decade of Transformation" initiative, which focuses on digitization and bolstering multi-domain warfare capabilities.
During the inspection, Lt Gen Singh engaged with troops of various ranks, commending their professionalism and high level of combat preparedness. The review included a look into modern training practices and the adoption of new technologies like drones for surveillance, targeting, and tactical operations.

The Shahbaaz Division showcased its readiness by demonstrating advanced systems and integrated combat formations designed for diverse terrains, including high-altitude and rugged areas. This visit underscores the Army's ongoing modernization efforts, especially in light of recent border developments with China.

Lt Gen Singh brings a wealth of operational experience from significant roles at the Military Operations Directorate and Southern Command Headquarters, enhancing his leadership in aligning the Corps with current defense priorities.

Re-raised on June 6, 1942, in Persia during World War II, the Sudarshan Chakra Corps has transitioned from countering German-Ottoman threats to becoming a key strike formation in India. Its modern duties include rapid deployment, joint force application, and technological integration, establishing it as a cornerstone of India's strategic deterrence strategy.
The visit also highlighted national objectives of achieving self-reliance in defense and preparing for future conflicts through increased joint operations and inter-service collaboration, aligning with India's vision for a technologically advanced military force by 2047.
