Lt Gen Neeraj Varshney Inaugurates Arjun Dwar at MCEME Secunderabad
Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, AVSM, VSM, Commandant of the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME), inaugurated the newly constructed entrance gate of the college, named “Arjun Dwar,” at Secunderabad on October 31, 2026.
The new gateway adds to the infrastructure of one of the Indian Army’s key training institutions. Built as a visible and functional addition to the campus, it is intended to improve the entrance to MCEME while also reflecting the institution’s military and technological identity.
The name “Arjun Dwar” draws on two associations. It is linked to the strength of the Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun, and it also takes inspiration from Arjun, the warrior and scholar from the Mahabharata. The name is meant to evoke strength, focus and determination, qualities that the institution associates with professional military excellence.

According to the institution, the new entrance gate is expected to improve accessibility for veterans residing in Secunderabad Military Station, giving them better access to the college. It is also part of a broader effort to upgrade the campus infrastructure and enhance ease of movement into the MCEME परिसर.
MCEME is an important part of the Indian Army’s training ecosystem, especially in the fields of electronics and mechanical engineering. The addition of Arjun Dwar adds to the college’s physical infrastructure and reinforces its institutional identity.
The development reflects MCEME’s continuing emphasis on infrastructure improvement and its aim of maintaining a secure, accessible and progressive environment for personnel, trainees and visitors. As a new entry point to the campus, the gateway also symbolically links the college’s professional legacy with its ongoing modernisation efforts.
