Lt Gen Manjinder Singh Assesses Combat Readiness of Chetak Corps at Faridkot

Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Command, conducted a significant assessment of combat readiness at the Faridkot Military Station today. The visit's primary objective was to evaluate operational capabilities, with a particular focus on the Chetak Corps, a key element in India's western border defenses.

Since assuming the leadership of the Sapta Shakti Command on July 1, 2024, Lt Gen Singh has prioritized examining the readiness and morale of his forces. He was welcomed with full military honors and presided over a ceremonial event where he engaged with soldiers and officers, assessing their strategic deployments.

During his speech, Lt Gen Singh commended the personnel for their outstanding professionalism, especially in Operation Sindoor. This high-precision operation targeted terrorist sanctuaries and was praised for its effectiveness and coordination. He emphasized the pivotal role of the Chetak Corps in the operation, reaffirming its strategic importance in protecting the Punjab and Rajasthan regions.

Lt Gen Singh addressed the gathering from a podium adorned with the emblem of the Regiment of Artillery, celebrated for its historical motto "Gods' Own." Established in 1827, the regiment was instrumental during the 1857 rebellion and remains a crucial component of the Indian Army's current force structure.

With extensive experience in counter-insurgency operations along the Line of Control, Lt Gen Manjinder Singh is anticipated to advance the Sapta Shakti Command's readiness and operational cohesion through his adept leadership and strategic vision.
