Lieutenant Prasad Reddy: Commissioned as Officer After Two Decades of Service in the Indian Army

In a compelling narrative of perseverance and dedication, Lieutenant SDV Prasad Reddy has demonstrated that true success is achieved by those who persist. Commissioned into the Indian Army on December 6, 2025, from the Indian Military Academy, his journey serves as a source of inspiration for aspiring defence personnel nationwide.

Beginning his service with the Indian Army in 2005, Lieutenant Reddy dedicated 20 years to the Corps of Signals. Raised in a modest family in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, his upbringing was characterized by discipline, hard work, and a profound sense of duty, which later became the bedrock of his distinguished career.

In 2015, he embarked on his journey with the SSB, a period marked by numerous challenges, deep self-reflection, and significant learning experiences. On his fifth attempt, he received a recommendation but narrowly missed the final merit list. For many, this could have marked the end of their aspirations, but for Lt Reddy, it was a pivotal moment.

Undaunted and determined, he returned with renewed vigor for his sixth attempt at the PC (SL) RO. This time, he not only received a recommendation but also successfully cleared the final merit list. His years of perseverance, resilience, and unwavering determination finally paid off.

As he marched out from the prestigious IMA as a commissioned Lieutenant, Lt SDV Prasad Reddy's journey delivers a strong message to all aspirants: setbacks are not failures but rather lessons. His story illustrates that dreams delayed are not dreams denied, as long as courage, consistency, and commitment remain unshaken.
