The Indian Army’s Konark Corps has put battlefield-focused innovation at the centre of its modernisation effort, showcasing a range of mission-oriented solutions during the “Konark Corps Ideas & Innovation Competition 2026”. Held under the theme “Precision in Innovation, Power in Execution,” the event highlighted how soldier-led technological ideas are being aligned with combat readiness and operational capability rather than treated as stand-alone demonstrations.

The competition brought together the Corps’ “Techno Warriors”, personnel using technical knowledge and field experience to solve practical military problems. Their presentations reflected a broader shift within the Army towards technology infusion, indigenous innovation and faster adaptation as modern warfare becomes more dependent on advanced systems, rapid information flows and resilient battlefield processes.

Operational problems at the centre of innovation

According to Konark Corps, the ideas presented were designed to improve “Combat Readiness & Operational Capability”. The emphasis was not simply on showcasing new gadgets or concepts, but on identifying real operational challenges and developing solutions that could help troops perform more effectively in demanding conditions.
