INS Shivaji Hosts Historic 100th Marine Engineering Course Graduation Ceremony

The Indian Navy celebrated a significant milestone as INS Shivaji, the institution renowned for training Marine Engineers, commemorated the completion of its 100th Marine Engineering Specialisation Course (MESC) on December 27.

After 105 weeks of demanding training, 31 officers, including those from allied foreign countries, graduated, equipped to tackle the technological and operational demands of naval service.

Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, AVSM, NM, who commands the Southern Naval Command, oversaw the Passing Out Parade and awarded officers for their exceptional performance during the course.

The Marine Engineering Specialisation Course is among the Indian Navy's most intensive programmes, offering in-depth training in marine propulsion, engineering management, damage control, and the upkeep of sophisticated warship machinery.

The achievement of the 100th MESC underscores INS Shivaji’s lasting influence and the Indian Navy's dedication to enhancing capabilities, promoting self-reliance, and developing global military partnerships through international officer training.

This centennial event serves as a testament to INS Shivaji’s crucial contribution to preparing skilled, adaptable, and forward-thinking marine engineers for both the Indian Navy and its allied forces.
