INS Aravali Commissioning to Strengthen Indian Navy's Maritime Domain Awareness in Gurugram

The Indian Navy is set to commission INS Aravali in Gurugram on September 12, 2025. Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff, will be present at the inauguration ceremony.

INS Aravali, named after the enduring Aravali mountain range, is poised to play a crucial role in bolstering the Navy’s information and communication centers. These centers are integral to India's Command, Control, and Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) framework.

Embodying the motto ‘सामुद्रिकसुरक्षायाः सहयोगं’ or “Maritime Security through Collaboration”, the base signifies a spirit of partnership, working closely with naval units, MDA centers, and allied stakeholders to enhance maritime security for India.

The crest of INS Aravali includes the imagery of mountains, symbolizing the robust strength of the Aravali range, alongside a rising sun, which denotes vigilance, resilience, energy, and the advent of new technological advancements in communications and MDA.

Officials have stated that the establishment of INS Aravali is a critical advancement in fortifying India's maritime readiness and protecting national interests amid a complex global security landscape.
