India's MONUSCO Hospital Awarded SRSG Unit Appreciation Under Colonel Rajesh W Adhau
The India Level III Hospital, now designated as Level II Plus, stationed with the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), has been honored with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of MONUSCO Unit Appreciation. This commendation recognizes the hospital's exemplary professionalism, operational resilience, and substantial contribution to the mission's objectives.
The accolade was presented to Colonel Rajesh W Adhau at the Medal Day Parade on December 29, 2025.

This prestigious honor follows the Force Commander’s Unit Citation awarded in March 2025, further highlighting the unit's unwavering excellence. The recognition pays tribute to the hospital's lifesaving medical services, particularly under extreme conditions. Notably, during the intense conflict in Goma, the Indian medical team maintained operations despite significant security threats.
According to officials, this award underscores India's long-standing tradition of medical excellence within United Nations peacekeeping efforts. It reflects the capabilities of the Armed Forces Medical Services to provide superior care, humanitarian support, and operational competence in some of the most challenging mission environments globally.
