Additional Important Notes

  1. Vacancies: The number of vacancies in each branch is tentative and may change based on service requirements and training slot availability.
  2. Submarine Arm: Male candidates shortlisted for GS(X), GS(Engineering), and GS(Electrical) can volunteer for the submarine arm, subject to medical and aptitude requirements.
  3. Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Specialization: Those selected under GS(X) might undergo RPA specialization post initial training, depending on service needs.
  4. Merchant Navy Personnel:
    • Individuals with a Government of India, Ministry of Shipping & Transport Certificate of Competency (Foreign going) as Second Mate, Mate, or Master and born between 02 July 1996 to 01 Jan 2007 are eligible for Executive (General Service) [GS] entry.
    • Similarly, candidates with a Certificate of Competency as 1st Class Engineer of a steamship from the Government of India, born between 02 July 1996 to 01 Jan 2007, can apply under Technical Branch (SSC Engineering).

Who Can Apply and Educational Requirements

  1. Minimum Aggregate: Graduates or final-year students with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university.
  2. University Recognition: The institution must be recognized by the Government of India under relevant Acts (UGC, AICTE, etc.).
  3. Provisional Submission: Final-year students can apply but must provide proof of degree completion (with the specified percentage) by June 2026.

    • For postgraduate students (M.Sc, MCA, M.Tech), marks from all previous semesters will be considered.

    • SSB interviews typically consist of psychological tests, group tasks, and personal interviews.
  3. Medical Examination:
    • Candidates who clear the SSB stage will undergo a medical examination as per Indian Navy standards.
