Indian Navy Hosts Inaugural NATAA-WOT Conclave at Western Naval Command

The inaugural NATAA–WOT Conclave was held by the Western Naval Command on March 25, 2026, as a crucial initiative aimed at improving coordination in the processes of warship trials and acceptance within the Indian Navy.

Organized under the Naval Trials and Acceptance Authority (NATAA) and Warship Overseeing Teams (WOT), the conclave was co-led by Rear Admiral Sanjay Adhana and Rear Admiral Sujit Baxi, Director General of the Warship Design Bureau (DG WDB), who participated via video conference.

The event was attended by delegates from the Warship Design Bureau, production directorates at Naval Headquarters, trial teams, and WOTs from various parts of the Navy.

The main aim of the conclave was to foster better synergy between trial units and overseeing teams, ensuring the prompt delivery of high-quality, combat-ready naval platforms.

Discussions at the event centered on enhancing workmanship, addressing challenges in design, rationalizing inspection and trial procedures, and improving acceptance processes for newly constructed warships.

The deliberations were in line with the Indian Navy’s broader vision of establishing a “combat-ready, credible, cohesive, and future-ready force” that can protect national maritime interests at any time and in any location.

The conclave highlights the Navy’s dedication to bolstering indigenous shipbuilding efforts and ensuring operational readiness through better coordination and efficiency.
