Indian Navy Chief Dinesh K Tripathi Launches Naval Sailing Hub at Bhojtaal, Bhopal
On May 17, 2026, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, officially opened the Naval Sailing Node at Bhojtaal in Bhopal.
This new facility is designed to enhance watermanship training, discipline, and sports excellence, while also promoting adventure and aquatic sports activities among naval personnel and young people.

The Naval Sailing Node will be used for both leisure and competitive watermanship activities, with a focus on improving training in sailing, rowing, kayaking, and canoeing.
The initiative also aims to engage National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets and the youth in Madhya Pradesh in water sports, encouraging them to explore career opportunities in the Armed Forces.

The inauguration ceremony included an impressive sail parade, as well as demonstrations of kayaking, canoeing, and rowing by Indian Navy personnel, highlighting their expertise in seamanship and maritime sports.
This new sailing node signifies the Indian Navy's ongoing commitment to fostering physical fitness, adventure sports, maritime culture, and engaging the youth across the nation.
