Indian Naval Academy Passing Out Parade May 2025

The Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, witnessed the proud and momentous Passing Out Parade (POP) of the Spring Term 2025 on Saturday, 31 May 2025. A total of 186 trainees graduated with honour and distinction, marking the culmination of their rigorous initial training.

 

The graduating batch comprised Midshipmen of the 107th and 108th Indian Naval Academy Courses, along with cadets of the 38th Naval Orientation Course (Extended), 39th NOC (Extended), 40th NOC (Regular), and 41st NOC (Coast Guard). The batch also included international cadets from four friendly foreign nations, reinforcing INA’s role as a hub of global maritime cooperation and training excellence.

The Passing Out Parade was reviewed by Vice Admiral V Srinivas, PVSM, AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command. The parade was also graced by Vice Admiral CR Praveen Nair, Commandant of INA, along with other senior naval officers and distinguished guests.

Award Winners

🥇 President’s Gold Medal: Midshipman Nakul Saxena, for standing first in the INA B.Tech Course.

🏆 Rajya Raksha Mantri Trophy: Midshipman Kiondo Michael Florence (Tanzania), for the Most Promising Cadet — a notable moment that highlighted the global outreach of India’s naval training.

🏅 FOC-in-C (South) Trophy: Midshipman Nithin S Nair, for topping among ex-NDA trainees.

🥇 CNS Gold Medal:

For NOC (Extended): Cadet Pawar Rohit Prakash

For NOC (Regular): Cadet Rajnish Singh

🏆 Director General Coast Guard Trophy: Cadet Kommu David

The prestigious Commandant’s Champion Squadron Banner was awarded to Cheetah Squadron, in recognition of their all-round excellence in academics, drills, sports, outdoor training, and extracurricular activities.

Vice Admiral V Srinivas commended the immaculate turnout and sharp drill of the trainees. In his address, he praised the dedication and performance of the cadets, award winners, and the Champion Squadron. He also acknowledged the contributions of the INA training staff and the vital support of families.

Highlighting the integration of foreign trainees, the Reviewing Officer emphasized how such collaborations promote international maritime cooperation and reflect the Indian Navy’s global leadership in training standards.

Following the parade, stripes were ceremonially shipped onto the shoulders of the newly minted officers by the dignitaries, marking the official commencement of their naval careers. The proud families in attendance shared emotional moments, celebrating their loved ones’ transformation into officers of the Indian Navy.

The freshly commissioned officers will now proceed to various Naval ships and establishments for their next phase of professional training and specialisation.
