Indian Military Academy Enhances Mountain Warfare Training with 'Exercise Parvat Raksha'

The Indian Military Academy (IMA) carried out Exercise Parvat Raksha from February 24 to 28, 2026, with an emphasis on training for attack and defense operations in mountainous regions.

This rigorous field exercise was aimed at enhancing tactical skills, physical stamina, and the ability to adapt to operational challenges in high-altitude settings. Officer Cadets engaged in synchronized offensive and defensive tactics, effectively using the terrain, maneuvering with equipment, and engaging in mission-specific planning suited for mountain warfare contexts.

The exercise concluded with a strenuous 30-kilometer runback, which thoroughly tested the participants' endurance, mental fortitude, and combat resilience.

Exercise Parvat Raksha reinforced IMA's dedication to equipping future officers with the skills needed for complex mountain operations, fostering the determination, leadership, and preparedness necessary to serve in some of the most challenging terrains.
