Indian Army Paratroopers Missing in South Kashmir's Kokernag During Anti-Terror Operation; Search Efforts Intensify

Two paratroopers from the Indian Army have disappeared in the upper regions of Kokernag in South Kashmir amid an ongoing anti-terror operation, as confirmed by officials on Tuesday.
Defence sources indicated that the soldiers were part of a special forces unit involved in a counter-terrorism mission when a sudden change in weather conditions caused a significant drop in visibility in the high-altitude area.
The Army, along with local police, has initiated an extensive search and rescue effort to find the missing personnel. The operation involves ground troops, drones, and sniffer dogs surveying the dense forest, with additional reinforcements brought in to support the mission.
Sources reported that the Kokernag operation was initiated following credible intelligence about armed terrorists in the area. However, the worsening weather conditions led to a temporary loss of communication with the two paratroopers during the mission.
The security forces have secured the area and increased surveillance efforts to ensure the safety of the missing soldiers and to prevent any terrorist activities in the vicinity.
Currently, the search operation continues despite the challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions.
