Indian Army and Air India Forge Welfare Initiative for Military Families
The Indian Army and Air India have formalized a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) in a ceremony attended by General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of the Army Staff. This agreement is designed to enhance welfare initiatives for Army personnel and their families.
The collaboration focuses on three main areas: Employment, Empowerment, and Environment. Its objectives include creating sustainable job opportunities for Veer Naris and their children, bolstering vocational education, and encouraging eco-friendly healthcare systems.

Under this initiative, Air India will offer employment to 20 Veer Naris and provide 40 job positions for their children at seven different airports, facilitating long-term career paths for military families.
Moreover, 25 ASHA Schools will receive vocational labs to advance skill development and training for the students.

The alliance also plans to introduce battery-operated carts in Army Hospitals, which will enhance patient mobility and the overall healthcare support system within the military medical facilities.
Officials noted that this initiative demonstrates the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to the welfare, rehabilitation, and empowerment of military families, while also promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

This partnership underscores the increasing cooperation between the Armed Forces and the corporate sector in providing support to veterans, Veer Naris, and their families through impactful social and developmental programs.
