Indian Air Force Completes 23rd CIRIE Course, Highlighting Global Aviation Training Excellence
The Aircrew Examining Board (AEB) of the Indian Air Force celebrated the completion of the 23rd Combined Instrument Rating Instructor and Examiner (CIRIE) Course with a valedictory ceremony at Air Force Station Hindan on February 27, 2026.
This esteemed six-week program underscored the Indian Air Force's dedication to upholding the highest levels of flying and operational safety. Air Marshal Tejbir Singh, AVSM, VM, Director General (Inspection & Safety), brought his extensive operational expertise to the event, enhancing the significance of the occasion.
Wg Cdr Deepak Awasthi, Wg Cdr Vishal Joshi, and Wg Cdr Rohit Tiwari were recognized for achieving the top positions in merit among aircrew from the fighter, transport, and helicopter segments, respectively.
The course included four weeks of rigorous ground training followed by two weeks of flying training, equipping officers with the skills to assess instrument flying. This is a vital ability for conducting modern air operations in challenging weather conditions and complex tactical situations.
In total, 40 officers completed the distinguished program, comprising 32 from the Indian Air Force, two each from the Indian Army and Indian Navy, as well as four officers from allied nations such as Kenya, Uganda, and Madagascar.
This diverse group of participants highlighted the increasing synergy among the tri-services and emphasized the Indian Air Force’s growing influence as a global leader in aviation training and standards.
