India Warns Pakistan: End Terror Support or Face Severe Consequences, Says Army Chief

India has delivered a strong warning to Pakistan regarding the issue of state-sponsored terrorism. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi declared that Pakistan must cease its support for terror networks or face the possibility of losing its position on the global map.
General Dwivedi made these remarks while addressing personnel at an Army post in Anupgarh, Rajasthan. He emphasized that the Indian military would not show the same restraint it did during Operation Sindoor conducted in May.
“This time we will not maintain the restraint that we had in Operation Sindoor 1.0. This time we will do something that will make Pakistan think whether it wants to retain its place in geography or not. If Pakistan wants to retain its place in geography, then it must stop state-sponsored terrorism,” he said.
The Army Chief called on soldiers to stay ready, noting, “If God wills, you'll get an opportunity soon. All the best.”
Background: Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor, which was launched in May 2025, served as India's counterattack following the Pahalgam terror incident. The Indian military struck nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7. The operation utilized long-range precision weaponry to reportedly dismantle several camps and related infrastructure while avoiding civilian and military casualties.
During the operation, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh claimed that Indian forces successfully brought down four to five Pakistani fighter jets, which included US-made F-16s and Chinese JF-17s, as well as a probable airborne early warning aircraft. The offensive concluded on May 10 when Pakistani commanders sought a ceasefire from India.
General Dwivedi underscored that India had presented international proof of the obliterated terror infrastructure, thereby preventing Pakistan from concealing the reality.
Honouring Bravery
During the event in Anupgarh, three officers were recognized for their outstanding performance during Operation Sindoor: BSF 140th Battalion Commandant Prabhakar Singh, Rajputana Rifles Major Ritesh Kumar, and Havildar Mohit Gaira.
The statements from the Army Chief highlight India's firm stance against cross-border terrorism and indicate increased alertness along its western border.
