Himachal Pradesh's Dr. Balbir Singh Commissioned as NCC Lieutenant After Training at OTA Nagpur
In a notable achievement for Himachal Pradesh, Dr Balbir Singh, an Assistant Professor from the Department of Commerce at Vallabh Government College, Mandi, has been appointed as a Lieutenant in the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
This accomplishment follows his successful completion of intensive training at the Officers Training Academy in Nagpur, marking a significant milestone for both his institution and the region.

A ceremony was held at the college to honor Dr Balbir Singh's achievement. Principal Sanjeev Kumar, along with NCC officers including Flying Officer Dr Chaman Lal Kranti Singh, congratulated Dr Singh and presented him with a memento in recognition of his success.
The event was attended by faculty members, NCC cadets, and college staff, who gathered to celebrate his accomplishments and contributions.
Dr Balbir underwent a three-month PRCN training program at OTA Nagpur, which was conducted in line with National Cadet Corps guidelines. Prior to this, he served as the Caretaker Officer of the NCC Army Wing at the college.
During the ceremony, he was presented with a ceremonial baton, symbolizing leadership, discipline, and responsibility.
College officials emphasized that Dr Balbir Singh's achievement will serve as an inspiration for students, encouraging them to engage more actively in NCC activities to cultivate leadership and discipline.
In addition to his service, Dr Balbir Singh, who is an alumnus of the college and Himachal Pradesh University, has made significant academic contributions, with numerous research publications to his name, exemplifying his excellence in education and service.
