Higher Command Course-54 Delegation Engages in Naval Operations Brief at Eastern Naval Command

A delegation comprising 50 course officers from the Higher Command Course-54, under the leadership of Lt Gen Harjeet Singh Sahi, Commandant of the Army War College in Mhow, visited the Eastern Naval Command from January 5 to 8, 2026, as part of the Naval & Industrial Tour.

The objective of the visit was to offer senior Army officers a detailed understanding of naval operations, emphasizing the Indian Navy's role in national maritime security. The visit commenced with an interactive briefing at the Headquarters Eastern Naval Command, which covered operational strategies, force deployment, and maritime security issues along the eastern seaboard and throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

The officers engaged in guided tours aboard key naval vessels, including ships and submarines, where they observed combat capabilities, sustainment protocols, and operational readiness directly. The schedule also included discussions with Vice Admiral Susheel Menon, the Chief of Staff at Eastern Naval Command.

The delegation also explored crucial shore facilities such as the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam and INS Satavahana, gaining insights into submarine training, maintenance operations, and dockyard support, which are essential for continuous maritime operations.

This naval engagement as part of the Higher Command Course-54 significantly advanced the integration among the armed forces by enhancing mutual understanding, operational cooperation, and recognition of maritime power's importance in present and future conflict scenarios.
