Havildar Navin Thapa and Naib Subedar Mohan Bhausaheb Suryabhan Excel at Junior Leaders Course, JLA Bareilly

The Junior Leaders Academy (JLA) in Bareilly concluded its Leadership and Management Course for Junior Leaders on 15 October 2025. The six-week program was attended by Junior Leaders from the Tri-Services and Assam Rifles, focusing on developing leadership skills, managerial expertise, and decision-making abilities crucial for grassroots military unit leadership.

In his address during the closing ceremony, the Commandant of JLA stressed the importance of Junior Leaders in upholding unit discipline and morale, as well as understanding their roles and responsibilities. He noted that these leaders are fundamental to the strength of military formations, playing a key role in ensuring unity, motivation, and operational effectiveness within their units.

Among the course's top performers, Havildar Navin Thapa of 1/1 Gorkha Rifles was awarded “Overall Best Student” and “Best in Theory” for his outstanding performance. Naib Subedar Mohan Bhausaheb Suryabhan of 6 Maratha Light Infantry was recognized for his excellence in communication and academics, earning him the titles of “Best in Communication” and “Second Best Student.”

The course underscored JLA's dedication to developing confident, capable, and responsible Junior Leaders, who embody the values of service, discipline, and leadership that are expected in the Indian Armed Forces.
