GOC of Airawat Division Assesses Final Preparations for Agniveer Recruitment Rally in Punjab
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Airawat Division under the Indian Army's Kharga Corps has evaluated the final preparations for the forthcoming Agniveer Recruitment Rally. This initiative underscores the Army's dedication to a recruitment process that is free, fair, and transparent. Conducted by the Army Recruiting Office (ARO) Patiala under the Headquarters Recruiting Zone (HQ Rtg Zone) Jalandhar, the rally is slated to take place from July 30 to August 10, 2026.
Targeting eligible youth from six districts in Punjab—Patiala, Mansa, Malerkotla, Sangrur, Barnala, and Fatehgarh Sahib—the recruitment event offers a significant opportunity to join the Indian Army under the Agnipath Scheme. The multi-day event is expected to attract thousands of hopeful candidates, marking it as one of the region's key military recruitment events.
During his inspection, the GOC assessed the preparedness of the recruitment site, covering administrative logistics, security protocols, medical facilities, and other support mechanisms to ensure the event proceeds smoothly. Senior military figures briefed the Army Commander about the comprehensive planning put in place to guarantee a transparent and efficient recruitment process, ensuring a safe and organized setting for all participants.
Highlighting the importance of integrity, the GOC instructed all officials involved to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and impartiality throughout the recruitment activities. He emphasized that each phase of the selection process must be executed in a manner that ensures fairness and transparency, providing equal opportunity to every eligible candidate aspiring to join the Indian Army.
The inspection also brought attention to the coordinated efforts between the Indian Army and the civil administration in organizing the event. The Airawat Division has collaborated with the Patiala District Administration to establish robust arrangements, including crowd management, traffic control, accommodation, sanitation, drinking water, emergency medical aid, and security measures to facilitate the welfare and convenience of candidates from the six participating districts.
Officials pointed out that civil-military cooperation is vital for the successful execution of large-scale recruitment events, allowing seamless synergy between various governmental agencies and ensuring the recruitment process remains uninterrupted.
The Agniveer Recruitment Rally is a part of the Indian Army's nationwide recruitment under the Agnipath Scheme, aiming to enlist motivated and physically fit young men through a merit-based selection process. Candidates will undergo assessments including physical fitness tests, physical measurement tests, medical examinations, and document verification to progress to further recruitment stages.
