Diljit Dosanjh Salutes Woman CRPF Officer at Delhi Concert, Says She Reminded Him of His Mother

New Delhi, October 31, 2026: Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh set aside the spotlight during the opening night of his Aura India Tour at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Friday to salute the security personnel deployed for the event, including a woman Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer he invited on stage.

In a moment that quickly drew applause from the audience and later spread widely across social media, Dosanjh asked concertgoers to give the security personnel a “big round of applause.” He then saluted them from the stage and said, “If you are not here, we wouldn’t feel safe.”

The singer then called the woman CRPF officer up onto the stage, where he affectionately placed his hand on her head and compared the moment to seeing his mother. “I get to meet my mother once or twice a year. But when you were standing there, I thought my mother was standing there,” he said.

He went on to recount a conversation with his mother earlier in the day. “Today my mother called me. She said, ‘Take care of yourself.’ I said, ‘Good things will happen, don’t worry.’ Looking at you today, I thought it was my mother who was standing with me,” Dosanjh told the audience. Some reports said he also hugged the officer.

The concert was the first show of Dosanjh’s seven-city Aura India Tour. It began around 7:40 pm after delays caused by rain and logistical issues, and featured a high-energy production with his hit songs, pyrotechnics, lasers and a drone show.

The gesture was widely shared as a public acknowledgement of the CRPF and Delhi Police personnel deployed to secure the large-scale event.
