Defence Public Relations Officers Meet with Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh
The current and future Defence Public Relations Officers of the Directorate of Public Relations Ministry of Defence visited Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd), who serves as the Governor of Uttarakhand, at Lok Bhawan on May 15, 2026.
During their meeting, the Governor expressed his appreciation for the services provided by the outgoing Defence PRO and offered advice to the incoming officer on the duties related to defence public relations.
Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh highlighted the necessity for comprehensive awareness and understanding of modern issues concerning military-civil cooperation, veteran and troop welfare, disaster response readiness, and national security communication.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining clear, professional, and respectful interactions between the Armed Forces and the media to enhance public knowledge and confidence.
The meeting underscored the Ministry of Defence's ongoing focus on effective public engagement, civil-military collaboration, and the responsible dissemination of information on defence and national security.
