Daljit Singh Chaudhary Presides Over Passing Out Parade of IPS 77th Batch at SVPNPA, Hyderabad

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad marked a significant milestone as the 77th batch of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers completed their intensive training program. The prestigious Passing Out Parade (PoP) was conducted today, signifying the end of 49 weeks of rigorous academic, physical, and field training aimed at shaping the future leaders of India’s police force.
Ceremonial Grandeur and Chief Guest
Daljit Singh Chaudhary, former Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he praised the newly trained officers for their dedication and urged them to maintain the highest standards of integrity, courage, and service to the nation. The ceremony witnessed the presence of proud family members, faculty, and senior officials from various police and civil services.

Parade Led by IPS Officer Anjit A. Nair
Leading the passing out parade was IPS officer Anjit A. Nair, who commanded his batchmates with precision and confidence. This event highlighted the culmination of months of disciplined training and the strong camaraderie developed at the Academy.

Diverse and Distinguished Batch Composition
This year, a total of 190 officer trainees graduated, including 174 Indian IPS probationers and 16 foreign trainees from allied nations, underscoring India's expanding role in international policing cooperation. Among these graduates, 62 are women, making up 36.63% of the batch, marking the highest female representation in the history of IPS training.
Notably, 87 officers, nearly half of the batch, hold engineering degrees, while others have diverse academic backgrounds, including 29 from arts, 36 from science, 8 medical graduates (MBBS), and 6 law graduates. This diversity underscores the broad intellectual spectrum and the multidisciplinary capabilities of the new IPS officers.

Representation from States
The batch includes officers from various parts of India, with four officers hailing from Telangana, including two women, and another four from Andhra Pradesh, with one woman among them. Among the graduates, 21 officers are under the age of 25, comprising 7 women and 14 men, reflecting youthful vigor and dedication.

A Legacy of Excellence
Since its inception, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy has trained 6,476 IPS officers, including 380 foreign officers from various countries. The Academy remains a symbol of excellence, embodying the principles of unity, discipline, and professional ethics in policing.
