D Mahesh Babu Appointed General Manager of Naval Armament Depot Goa
Shri D Mahesh Babu, INAS, has assumed the role of General Manager at the Naval Armament Depot Goa (NAD Goa), succeeding Shri Bhupendra Sharma, INAS.
Belonging to the 2009 cohort of the Indian Naval Armament Service, Shri Mahesh Babu commenced his career with the Naval Armament Organisation on October 28, 2009.
An alumnus of Anna University in Chennai, he has held numerous key positions across various Naval Armament Depots, such as NAD Visakhapatnam, NAD Karwar, NAD Arakkonam, NAD Trombay, and NAD Goa.
Shri Mahesh Babu is an officer trained by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) on the Mark 54 torpedo in the United States and has contributed significantly to boosting the operational readiness and development of the Naval Armament Organisation.
According to officials, he was instrumental in founding NAD Arakkonam and transforming it into a fully operational depot that supports naval logistics.
With his extensive technical knowledge, operational experience, and leadership skills, Shri Mahesh Babu is anticipated to enhance operational excellence and mission readiness at NAD Goa.
The appointment underscores the Indian Navy's ongoing focus on reinforcing its logistics infrastructure and armament support capabilities across its operational commands.
