CRPF Gives Farewell to Brigadier Rohit Nautiyal at New Delhi Headquarters
Brigadier Rohit Nautiyal (Retd), Deputy Inspector General and Principal of the Central Reserve Police Force’s Recruit Training Centre in Srinagar, has been given a warm farewell at Force Headquarters in New Delhi as he concluded his tenure with the paramilitary force. The farewell was attended by CRPF Director General G. P. Singh and senior officers, who recognised his service to the organisation.
Brigadier Nautiyal brought to the CRPF more than three decades of experience from the Indian Army. He served the Army for 32 years before retiring as a Brigadier on October 31, 2022, after which he joined the CRPF on re-employment. His background gave him a wide range of operational, administrative and training experience that he later applied in his role with the force.
An alumnus of the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, and the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, he was commissioned into the 4th Battalion of the 8th Gorkha Rifles after completing his military training. Over the course of his Army career, he held several key appointments in both field and instructional roles.
Among his notable postings, Brigadier Nautiyal commanded a Rashtriya Rifles company in North Kashmir, an assignment that placed him in one of the country’s most sensitive counter-insurgency theatres. He also served as an Instructor, Class C, at the Commando Wing of the Infantry School in Belgaum and as G-1 (Operations) at an Assam Rifles Sector Headquarters. These roles reflected his experience in combat training, operational planning and leadership.

His service earned several decorations and commendations, including the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief’s Commendation Card, the Operation Parakram Medal and the Operation Vijay Medal. He also received multiple Director General’s Discs during his military service.
After moving from the Army to the CRPF, Brigadier Nautiyal served for three years as DIG and Principal of RTC Srinagar. In that role, he was involved in training, mentoring and preparing recruits for the responsibilities they would take on in the country’s largest Central Armed Police Force.

The CRPF said his background and leadership helped strengthen the professional training environment at RTC Srinagar, where recruits undergo rigorous preparation before being posted to operational units across India. During the farewell at FHQ, Director General G. P. Singh and other senior officers thanked him for his dedicated service and contributions to the force.
The force also paid tribute to his exemplary service, courageous leadership and commitment to the nation, while extending best wishes for his health, happiness and a fulfilling life ahead.
Brigadier Rohit Nautiyal’s career, spanning more than 32 years in the Indian Army and followed by a significant role in CRPF training leadership, reflects a long record of service across operational, instructional and institutional assignments.
