CME Pune Awards Degrees to 46 Officers in M Tech and Technical Entry Scheme Courses
A formal convocation ceremony took place at the College of Military Engineering (CME) in Pune on June 4, 2026, where 46 officers were awarded degrees for completing three significant technical courses. This event marked a crucial achievement for the officers, who finished advanced studies in various engineering and technology fields.
The cohort of graduating officers comprised 16 individuals from the M Tech Civil Structural Engineering Course, 13 from the M Tech Electrical Energy Systems Course, and 17 from the Technical Entry Scheme (TES-45) Civil and Mechanical courses. Notably, 11 of the graduates were officers from allied nations, underscoring CME Pune's continued influence as a prestigious training center for both the Indian Army and its partner nations.
The ceremony was graced by Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), serving as the Chief Guest. His presence lent added significance to the event, which celebrated the culmination of intensive academic and technical training, as well as professional development.
In his address to the graduating officers, Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma characterized the convocation as a pivotal milestone in their professional and academic paths. He congratulated the officers on their achievements and underscored the importance of lifelong learning in today's military landscape.
The General Officer emphasized the necessity of continuous learning and staying abreast of fast-paced technological advancements. He pointed out that technology is reshaping warfare, infrastructure, combat engineering, energy systems, and battlefield support, necessitating ongoing knowledge and skill enhancement for the officers.

In the M Tech Civil Structural Engineering stream, Captain Kinga Wangdi of the Royal Bhutan Army was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal, while the GOC-in-C, ARTRAC Best Student Book Prize was given to Lieutenant Colonel Pawan Kumar Dubey.
In the M Tech Electrical Energy Systems stream, Lieutenant Colonel Sourab Gupta excelled by receiving both the Gold Medal and the GOC-in-C, ARTRAC Best Student Book Prize.
For the Technical Entry Scheme course, Lieutenant Ashutosh Singh received the Gold Medal, and Lieutenant Nirmal Chandra Bhatt was honored with the GOC-in-C, ARTRAC Best Student Book Prize.
As part of the event, the student officers presented projects on contemporary and operationally relevant topics, addressing crucial issues facing the Indian Army and demonstrating the practical application of their studies to military challenges.
