Chetak Corps Hosts 'Know Your Army' Mela in Bathinda Ahead of 78th Army Day

In the lead-up to the 78th Army Day Parade, the Chetak Corps hosted a 'Know Your Army' Mela at the Bathinda Military Station. This event was designed to enhance the relationship between civilians and the military and to inspire young people with the values and capabilities of the Indian Army.

The mela was officially opened by Lieutenant General Shamsher Singh Virk, who is the General Officer Commanding of the Chetak Corps. During the inauguration, the Army Commander engaged with students and NCC cadets, encouraging them to prioritize the nation and consider serving the country in their future careers.

The event attracted a significant number of attendees from the civilian community, particularly young people who showed strong interest in the military displays. Attendees had the opportunity to see modern military capabilities firsthand, including advanced drones, state-of-the-art weapon systems, and next-generation equipment, highlighting the Indian Army’s technological advancements and readiness for combat.

This initiative was aimed at building awareness, promoting transparency, and establishing trust with the civilian population. It also sought to inspire the younger generation through direct interaction, live demonstrations, and practical experiences.

The 'Know Your Army' Mela serves as an important outreach event in the lead-up to Army Day 2026, underscoring the Indian Army's dedication to national service, innovation, and maintaining strong ties with the citizens it protects.
