Captain Shraddha Scripts History as First Woman Pilot in Indian Army’s Cheetah Helicopter Fleet

In a significant milestone for gender inclusion in the armed forces, Captain Shraddha has become the first woman pilot to join the Indian Army’s elite Cheetah helicopter fleet.

Commissioned in 2020, Captain Shraddha earned her flying wings in 2023 and has since logged 165 solo flying hours, attaining full operational status. On a noteworthy mission, she co-piloted the Cheetah aircraft alongside Lieutenant Colonel KS Bhalla, with the Army Commander onboard—a proud moment for the Army Aviation Corps and the Dhruva Command.

This achievement reflects the Indian Army’s commitment to providing equal opportunities and an enabling environment for its women officers. Dhruva Command continues to lead by example in fostering inclusive growth and operational excellence across ranks.

Captain Shraddha’s achievement stands as a powerful symbol of determination, professionalism, and women’s empowerment within the armed forces.
