Can Soldiers Salute from Left Hand?

At the Northern Command Investiture Ceremony 2024 in Prayagraj, the courage and unwavering spirit of the Indian Army were on full display. Sepoy Dhan Singh Gurjar, a brave soldier of the Rashtriya Rifles, saluted the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-IN-C) of the Dhruva Command using his left hand. Why Is the Right-Hand Salute Standard?

The right-hand salute is traditionally used in most military forces.
